This is Axton and me racing cars. I wish I had gotten a picture of the entire setup. It was really cool. These life-size steering wheels controlled the cars and 3 people were able to race each other!
Axton the Fireman and Josh the Policeman!
After we left Hooray for Harriman, we went home to nap and then to the park to feed the ducks! I wish I had gotten some pictures of that, but I was too busy teaching Axton how to feed them from his hand. This one duck (well, actually it was a goose, but we just call them all ducks) was so comfortable with us, he let us pet him. He was so soft and Axton loved that experience.
To top the day off, we visited our property and got some amazing pictures. We talked about our plans for the property and where everything will be placed. I love the view from my future front porch--
Isn't it beautiful? We plan on removing a few of the larger trees to have a better view of the lake, but just look at those mountains! It is absolutely breathtaking!
So today I wanted to show you guys how to make "no-poo" and conditioner. It's so simple, saves a lot of money, and makes your hair feel absolutely amazing!
What you will need:
-water
-baking soda
-apple cider vinegar
-2 clean/empty containers (old shampoo bottles will work just fine)
I actually use an old hair dye bottle for my shampoo and a small spray bottle for my conditioner. The hair dye bottle lets me easily get the shampoo onto my roots and the spray bottle allows me to only spray my ends.
Mix approximately 1 part baking soda to 3 parts water. It will dissolve better in warm water. Shake well and you're done. It is best to only apply to your roots. I let it sit for 30 seconds or so and then rinse. Make sure you rinse really well.
For the conditioner, mix about 1 part apple cider vinegar to 3 or 4 parts water. Shake well. Apply only to the ends of your hair. Since my hair is short now, the spray bottle helps to only get the ends of my hair saturated. I assume it would also work very well for longer hair. Just hold the ends of your hair out and spray away. Let it sit for a couple of minutes and rinse well.
A lot of people have an adjustment period where their hair will be extra greasy or extra dry. It is because the oils you produce are trying to get back to a natural state. You will only need to wash your hair every few days. My hair has actually gone the dry route so I haven't had to wash my hair as often. Your oils will eventually get back to normal, but everyone is different. Stick with it and give it a few weeks to really start working. I promise you it will be worth it! Your hair will be naturally beautiful and shiny!
For my next post I will show you guys how to make a fantastic moisturizer that has so many uses and has been amazing for me! If you have any questions about "no-poo", let me know and I'll see what I can do to help you. Please remember that I am not an expert on this, but I do know what is working for me and what isn't. I've been able to troubleshoot issues and fix them to make this a product specifically for me. I will do what I can to help you make it your own.
I want to thank all of you who are reading and following along with me. It means a lot that you are interested enough in my life to keep up with our shenanigans :) Until next time, remember to live and love... naturally!
